ySense is one of the survey sites under the Prodege family (which includes Swagbucks) so its a pretty big name. This one has offer and survey support, though more focused on surveys than the other sites.

What is ySense?
ySense is a GPT (Get paid to) platform. This means that is has offers (which are mostly going to be games) and surveys. Pretty good if you like both and if you only want one it can still be a good option for you. In my experience it seems to be a less popular (but higher paying) version of Swagbucks.
Surveys

The surveys are decent as you can see, and pay varies. As you complete more surveys, you will see a special section with some high paying surveys which you are more likely to qualify for.

I’m yet to have any issues with a survey not paying, which is appreciated unlike other sites where this is more common.
Those are the surveys from Prodege’s own panel but if surveys there are low, you can access much more on the CPX research panel that was incorporated into the site. Keep in mind, though, that these are less paying than the self hosted ones and you will likely get disqualified more frequently.

Offers
Of course this site has offers also, and you might even prefer to spend your time here. They are quite similar to other GPT sites but I think they pay more than the others.

They have their own offers shown above with decent pay, but they also offer some surveys from research partners such as RevU. As for me, I prefer to put my time into surveys but if you prefer offers then go for it, you can earn a good amount.
Earning Potential
ySense’s earning potential is decent but far from spectacular. As mentioned briefly earlier, the surveys pay decent, but there is great variety in the pay of the offers. In general, lower paying offers will be easier to complete but this is not without exceptions. I do think it is above the average GPT site (surveys and offers included) but still not amazing. Earning around $5 per hour on weekdays in Tier 1 countries can be expected. Always expect this rate to drop on weekends, national holidays, and if you aren’t in a Tier 1 country.
Withdrawals
Cashouts are where this site lacks a bit unfortunately. You have the standard Paypal and visa cashout at $5. The issue is that take a while to come out, possibly up to 3–4 days which is much longer than the perfect instant offered by many other sites. Still, the minimum cashout is respectable. (note, you’ll need to earn a bit over $5 in the UK to cover conversion)

But withdrawals are simple with a number verification. No ID check for now. After that, just wait for your cash and you will see it in your PayPal in a few days.
Exact earnings from my account
I have used this site mildy to moderately. That’s because I feel there are other sites which fit my needs better than this one, so I only come here when surveys are low. Still, I have managed to earn a little. All of it came from surveys.

Remember, my numbers are not a limit or a maximum, so you could earn much higher or lower depending on your usage.
What people get wrong
The first is focusing on surveys at the wrong time. I’ve said in other articles and it’s fact in the survey industry that survey inventory is lower on weekends. That’s because the surveys from the rest of the week hit quota and the workers go home to rest. So just rest on weekends, focus surveys in your free time on weekdays.
The second is not being honest on the surveys. This can mean you will make a statistically impossible profile over time, even if you can earn at the start. It’s best to use a honest profile to keep a high trust score on the site. There are plenty of surveys for everyone — it is in the site’s interest to match you to these, so just stay honest and you will earn for years to come. This site is expecially strict as they have a big name in the market research space and host their own surveys via the Prodege panel.
Who is ySense for
ySense is for seasoned survey takers and those who don’t mind waiting a little while for their payments to come. There is little hand holding or fancy graphics on this site — just head to surveys and offers and earn from there, and cashout. So I don’t recommend this to beginners, as they may need a more interactive experience to stay motivated on the site. But advanced takers will enjoy this one due to the simplicity and above average pay.
Final pros and cons
Pros
- Above average pay
- Survey matching is above average
- Self hosted survey router
- Alternate router if desired
- Large offer variety
Cons
- Survey availability can vary drastically
- Cashout take up to 4 days to receive
- Offers pay lower than on other sites
- Lacks many bonus features compared to other sites
My honest verdict
This site is ok to me. I wouldn’t be sad if it vanished but I still find it useful. I use it as the backup site when the surveys on my main arsenal are low. Try it for yourself, and see how you like it. Sign up here if you’re interested.
